Atlantic District Player Development Program Alumni Mattias Samuelsson (Team Captain) and Jack DeBoer are representing the United States at the 2018 International Ice Hockey Federation Under-18 Men's World Championship from April 19-29 in Chelyabinsk & Magnitogorsk, Russia.

Both players became involved in the Player Development Program at age 12, attending the Quebec tournament with the Philadelphia Flyers and the New Jersey Devils respectively.  These two young men continued with the PDP until they were invited to join the National Team Development Program U17 team in 2016.

Last summer, Mattias and Jack returned to the Atlantic District PDP to serve as Assistant Team Leaders and outstanding role models for this year’s Quebec players, giving participants the opportunity to ask questions and learn what is involved in reaching the highest level in youth hockey.

“It is not surprising that these young men took time out of their summers to give back to the Atlantic District Player Development Program,” said John DiNorcia, the program’s Director.  “They clearly have a passion for the game and we are very grateful that they took the time to share that with our young players.”
