Position Title: Safe Sport Coordinator
Reports To: President, Atlantic Amateur Hockey Association (AAHA) & USA Hockey 
Classification: Volunteer
Location: Within AAHA jurisdiction)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary liaison for Safe Sport issues within the Atlantic Amateur Hockey Association.
• Ensure alignment with USA Hockey’s Safe Sport Program and compliance with the U.S. Center for SafeSport policies.
• Promote awareness and understanding of Safe Sport training requirements among AAHA Leagues, Clubs, athletes, parents, coaches, billets, and volunteers.
• Track and report completion of SafeSport training and background screenings.
• Assist in enforcing policies related to abuse prevention, locker room monitoring, social media use, and travel.
• Receive and promptly report any allegations of misconduct to the AAHA President. AAHA Counsel and relevant authorities, and the USA Center for Safe Sport, as required.
• Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion.
• Attend any AAHA or USA Hockey-required Safe Sport Coordinator training sessions.

Qualifications:

• Strong commitment to athlete safety and ethical standards.
• Basic understanding of Safe Sport policy requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
• Must complete the USA Hockey SafeSport Training and pass a background screening.
