The 2019 Disabled Hockey Workshop will take place Sept. 27-29, 2019 in Allentown, Pennsylvania at the PPL Center and Renaissance Allentown Hotel. The workshop will begin at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27 and will conclude at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29. Attendees will be invited to a social on Saturday night with the USA National Sled Hockey Team and the Lehigh Valley Phantom organization, and receive tickets to the Phantom game later that night.
New and existing program administrators, board members, coaches and volunteers from around the country will come together for a weekend of educational sessions and networking. Attending programs will have access to the best resources available to USA Hockey members, providing the tools to make your program a top quality and outstanding organization. The second annual USA Hockey Special Hockey Classic will be held November 8-10 at the Ice Vault Arena in Wayne, N.J. The special hockey discipline is intended to give people with a wide range of physical and developmental disabilities the chance to play the sport of ice hockey in an environment that is adapted to the level of ability. The event will include 16 teams on a first come, first serve basis. Last year's inaugural event saw 10 teams take the ice at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
