Carl Barling Tapped as Commissioner

The AAHA has named Carl Barling to serve as Commissioner who will oversee disciplinary matters for those teams and Clubs considered to be independent of AAHA sanctioned leagues. Mr. Barling will review matters reported to the AAHA that involve such teams and their adherence to AAHA and USA Hockey Rules, Regulations and other comparable policies. 

Mr. Barling has extensive hockey experience in all aspects of the game. He has 12 years of coaching experience. He is a level 4 coach.  He currently coaches in the Jersey Colts organization and has coached there for the past 4 years. He is a veteran official of 26 years with USA Hockey.  He has officiated in two National Championship tournaments and has also served as Referee-In-Chief of the NJYHL for 13 years. Additionally, Carl Barling works as an off-ice official for the NHL.  

Carl works in the financial services industry.  He is married to Kristin and has two children, Emily and Ryan.
