The AAHA officiating program has been hard at work with their officiating staff.  Over the past few months, the officiating program has been hosting continuing education classes for officials.  As part of the continuing education program, officials spend about five hours with USAH instructing staff. Officials also get to watch and peer-supervise on-ice officials. They also take part in a Q&A with the on-ice officials before and after the game they observe.

Starting in December, Regional Coordinator Henry Augenstein and the WBS Penguins hosted 15 officials. In Hershey, PA regional coordinator Tim Foreman and the Hershey Bears of the AHL hosted 20 officials, and most recently Regional Coordinator Mike Bownick. The University of Delaware hosted 30 officials to an ACHA D1 game.

Our next continuing education programs will be held on Feburary 8th at Princeton University and February 9th in Allentown.  Any official interested can contact regional coordinators Matt Dumpert and Henry Augenstein with any questions.
