Announcement of AAHA Zone Elections

ANNOUNCEMENT OF AAHA ZONE ELECTIONS

On Monday, June 1, 2020, the AAHA will hold Zone Director Elections for the following Zones which have not yet held elections by the April 15th Deadline. The elections will be conducted virtually by Zoom. Each Zone’s election time will be scheduled between 6pm and 8pm and announced shortly.

Zone 19 – Para-Hockey and Special Needs Teams	1

DUTIES OF ZONE DIRECTOR(S)

Attend the Meetings of the Board, approve minutes, financials, present and approve amendments to the Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and elect officers and USA Hockey Directors.

(Note: these instructions reference “Club President” and is meant to designate the ranking responsible party for a Club, which may be Rink Manager, Hockey Director, Owner, Etc.)

ZONE ELIGIBILITY

Those Clubs whose registered players appeared on team rosters classified under that particular Zone in 2019-20 season, shall be eligible to vote in these Zone elections. Example: If you registered Adult teams in 2019-20 season, you will be eligible to nominate and vote in the Zone 17 – Adult Team elections.

NOMINATIONS FOR ZONE DIRECTOR -

Club Presidents (or equivalent) or their Designee shall be eligible to nominate persons to serve as Zone Directors. No Club President or their Designee may nominate more than 3 nominees who have Affiliation with the same Club, and no more than 5 nominees total. AAHA Executive Committee members are eligible to nominate individuals for Zone Directors.

Club Presidents (or equivalent) or their Designee shall register their Club or association for each and any applicable Zone Election at the following link: https://form.jotform.com/201388853078060

You will need your Association Code used in the USA Hockey Registry.

Nominations shall be closed by 12 noon - Thursday, May 28, 2020 and a final ballot and instructions will be distributed to eligible voters.

VOTING -

Club Presidents or their Designee and nominees shall be required to participate in the Zoom Meeting, where final remarks can be made by Nominees, then voting shall commence. Club Presidents or their Designee shall be eligible to cast votes equivalent to the number of participants registered for that Club, within it particular Zone. Example; if you are voting in the Adult Zone 17 – and your association registers 425 Adult players, you will able to cast 425 for each Zone Director position being elected. Then ballots will be emailed to the AAHA President, Glenn Hefferan and AAHA Secretary, Maureen Thompson-Seigel.

The final order of finish will be tallied and the order of finish will determine each of the Directors and appropriate Alternate Directors.
