AAHA Coaching Update #4

Hello AAHA Coaches,

Recently we encouraged coaches to obtain their temp cards for CEP Certification for the 2020*2021 season.  By doing so, we reduce the pressure on our Virtual Clinic Schedules being launched nationwide.

The National Office announced an extension until July 31st to obtain your Temp Card

The Temp Card would keep you current for the entire season and there is no reason to complete a clinic, unless you wanted to later this season after October 1st, 2020.

We also advised coaches that once they have a Temp Card  - and they wanted to attended a future clinic - that we would accommodate them as a pre-paid walk-up.  This is a manual process to avoid being charged twice.

What we did not count on was the large number of coaches getting their temp card, then almost immediately attempt to register for a clinic.

We posted just 8 of the projected 40 clinics. Our clinic season will be posted by October 1st, 2020

Here is what you will see when you attempt to register for a clinic.

PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN FIRST TO COACHES IN THE ATLANTIC DISTRICT

STOP - IF YOU APPLIED FOR AND PAID FOR THE COVID-19 TEMP CARD - STOP

You now have until July 31st to obtain a Temp Card

Once you have a Temp Card, you may register for a Virtual Clinic after October 1st, 2020.

Please contact your course instructor.  He or she will try to accommodate you as a pre-paid walk-up attendee based on available seats.

If you paid twice, you will not be refunded the temp card fee and you would be expected then to participate in the virtual clinic for which you registered.

Due to COVID 19 and the restrictions imposed by our respective State Governors, we are launching the CEP Coaching Clinics online and via ZOOM Meetings.  This is a new program for the Coaching Education Program and we continue to evaluate the effectiveness of Online Coaching Education opportunities. This is currently limited in registrations and is being assessed by the Atlantic District Coach in Chief and his staff.

The class consists of sessions conducted over one- or two-days as noted in the Course Calendar.  All sessions are required and you must maintain a video connection to receive credit for the class.

A high speed and stable Internet connection is highly recommended. A desktop or device equipped with a camera is required.  All times posted are Eastern Time

Due to the format and nature of this course, total seats will be limited to 50 coaches at this time..

Please note that although there may be a physical location listed for the class, ALL CLASSES WILL TAKE PLACE ONLINE.

Further class instructions and specific tasks to prepare for a ZOOM Meeting will be sent to registrants two days prior to class
