The U.S.A. Hockey National Tournaments continued for the third day today. The 16U tournament is taking place in Maryland Heights, Missouri and the 15O is in Dallas, Texas.
The North Jersey Avalanche teams in both the 15O and 16U divisions enjoyed victories over the Mid Fairfield Rangers and the Colorado Thunderbirds, respectively.
In the 15O game, both the Avalanche and the Rangers scored a goal each in the first two periods. But the Avalanche excelled in the third period when they scored three goals and kept the Rangers only to one, making the final score 5-3.
Over in Missouri, the 16U New Jersey Avalanche beat the Colorado Thunderbirds 5-2. The Avalanche were able to shut out the Thunderbirds in the first period, scoring three unanswered goals. With the score 1-3 favoring the Avs in the second period, Jake Manfre scored the team’s 4th goal while short-handed. The North Jersey Avalanche stand on top of the Olympic bracket in pool play.
