An absolutely nail biting game between the NJ Avalanche and the Boston Jr Eagles ended in a shootout with the Avalanche claiming victory in the Youth Tier I 18U division in Missouri today.

The Eagles opened with a goal in the first period but the game remained close the entire time. The score was 2-3 in the second period before Roman Tacelli on the Eagles was able to capitalize on a power play and even the score 3-3, which remained entering the third period.

In the final period, the Eagles again opened with a goal, but Avalanche forward Matthew Brille was able to answer with a goal to tie it up 4-4.

In overtime, no one scored and it progressed to an eventful 5-person shoot out. Vitaly Levyy, Ethan Ullrick, and Evan Brown all scored goals for the Avalanche to bring the total to three and the Eagles scored only two. Avalanche goalie Daniel Antal saved three goals during the shootout and had a 91.8% save rate throughout the game.

The Avalanche advance to the quarter finals tomorrow.
