Flyers Warriors Set to Host 2021 USA Hockey Warrior Classic in November

The tournament will host USA Hockey affiliated Warrior teams from across the United States

PHILADELPHIA (September 25, 2021) – Today in a press conference at Flyers Training Camp, the Flyers Warriors announced they will host the 2021 USA Hockey Warrior Classic and recognized Toyota as the official automotive partner for this year’s event taking place November 5-7. The tournament will be held at Flyers Training Center in Voorhees, New Jersey and Hollydell Ice Arena in Sewell, New Jersey. All games will be open to the public with free admission. 

“We’re beyond excited to be the host club for the USA Hockey Warrior Classic,” said Bill Duffy, President of the Flyers Warriors. “We aim for the 2021 Warrior Classic to be the best experience to date and we are looking forward to seeing everyone in November.”

The event brings together warrior hockey teams from around the country to participate in a weekend of hockey that is dedicated to U.S. military veterans with a disability who also play ice hockey. To be eligible, all players must be or have been veterans and members of the Armed Forces and meet a minimum disability rating.

“After our local Warrior tournament was canceled twice last year, we jumped at the chance to host one of the biggest events hosted by warrior hockey,” said Brad Marsh, Flyers Warriors Head Coach. “We are honored to defend our title on our home ice and to showcase our incredible athletes in front of our community.”

Representatives from Toyota including Paul Muller, President of the local Tri-State Toyota Dealers Association, were onsite to present a $35,000 check to support ongoing efforts of the Flyers Warrior team. Toyota’s association with USA Hockey began in 2012. Toyota is proud to serve as the official automotive partner of the Flyers Warriors Training Camp Series and 2021 USA Hockey Warrior Classic.

“The Tri-State Toyota Dealers are honored to support our local hometown heroes and be recognized as the “official automotive” partner ofFlyers Warriors as they host this year’s Classic,” said Paul Muller, President of the local Tri-State Toyota Dealers Association. “The opportunity to be involved with the Flyers Warriors Classic, an event that brings warrior hockey teams from around the country to participate in a weekend of hockey that is dedicated to U.S. military veterans with a disability, is truly a privilege to support,” Muller added. Toyota supports transitioning veterans and military families through their partnership with “Hiring Our Heroes” and is committed to empowering athletes with disabilities through their “Start your Impossible” initiative by sharing real-life mobility stories of inspiring Olympic and Paralympic athletes. “Through our continued relationship with USA Hockey as “official mobility “official mobility partner”, it brings us tremendous excitement to extend our sponsorship locally and support the USA Warrior Hockey Programs through innovative ways and events to further athlete development such as this upcoming tournament,” shared Muller.

The Flyers Warriors look forward to hosting the upcoming event as the defending champions. The 2019 USA Hockey Classic consisted of Hockey affiliated Warrior teams from across the United States, including many that have varying degrees of NHL team affiliations. The Flyers Warriors claimed the championship with a 7-3 win over the Carolina Warriors.
