Our youngest players’ season kicked off last month as it usually does: the Mite Jamboree. After last year’s event had to be cancelled due to Covid-19, the Mite Jamboree came back stronger than ever to signal the beginning of the 2021-2022 season.

“The success of this AAHA 6U-8U Jamboree relies on the tireless efforts of the rink staff at the Ice Vault and Ice Works, team coaches, team managers, officials, and the families of our players,” said ADM Coordinator Maureen Thompson. “The AAHA hopes the good vibes from this event carry through the season, and we look forward to watching these players, coaches and officials develop and grow.”

200 6U-8U teams throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania participated. Ice Vault and Ice Works hosted the young players for the weekend, in partnership with the New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia Flyers. The NHL teams offer their support for events like this to add to the enthusiastic atmosphere.

“Good luck in the 2021-2022 hockey season,” Thompson said. “Hockey is back!”
