Jr. Flyers Grace Dwyer and Laney Potter have been selected for the 2022 USA U18 Women’s National Team. The women will represent the country in the IIHF World Championships held in Sweden from Jan. 8-15.

 

“These players are awesome, really focused, really detail oriented, really coachable kids,” said Chris Baer, the Jr. Flyers’ head coach and general manager. “They really push themselves and their teammates … they have a great presence on the team.”

 

Both Dwyer and Potter were selected as defenseman, which means an impressive two out of the seven defensemen on the team will be Jr. Flyers. 

 

Dwyer will be heading to Cornell in the Fall of 2022 and Potter is committed to Wisconsin for 2023. 

 

“They’re both gonna have phenomenal collegiate careers, and I think this is the start of their international careers,” Baer said. “Hopefully they’re setting themselves up to represent the country with the Olympic team at some point.”
