The Township of Woodbridge opened its second publicly-owned rink this past Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022.

“Building our second sheet of ice at the Club at Woodbridge will bring new opportunities for youth hockey players providing them with more ice time and off ice workouts at our new state of the art facilities,” said Vito Cimilluca, the business administrator for the township.

The new rink is across the street from the Woodbridge Community Center, which contains the first rink that the township acquired. The financial success of the first one, combined with the frequency of use and how much the community appreciated having the rink, led to the acquisition of a second rink.

The new facility has one rink and will offer Try Hockey for Free events, as well as learn to play and other opportunities for children to step on the ice the first time.

“Mayor McCormac and I are also looking forward to the economic driver that the new rink will bring for our restaurants, hotels and business here in Woodbridge,” Cimilluca said. “This will also help build and expand the sport for our New Jersey AAHA communities, as well as Woodbridge Township.”
