Pennsylvania & Delaware Crown Tier-II District Champions

Last weekend in Pennsylvania and Delaware teams across Pennsylvania and Delaware faced off in a series of matches for a spot at USA Hockey Nationals.

Teams traveled to Ice Works in Aston, PA. At the 14-U-AA level, the York Devils would defeat the Valley Forge Colonials twice to advance to the USA Hockey Nationals in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The York Devils won the first game, 4-2, and the second game, 3-2. At the 16U-AA level, Team Philadelphia won the first game in overtime against the York Devils, 4-3. For the second game, Team Philadelphia dominated, shutting out the York Devils as they scored five goals. With the victories, Team Philadelphia gets to travel to Troy, Michigan for the USA Hockey Nationals. Lastly, at the 18U-AA level, the Blazers faced off against Team Philadelphia. The first game was back and forth throughout and ended up going into overtime. However, it was the Blazers who would come out on top as they defeated Team Philadelphia, 4-3. It was a similar script for the second game with another tight contest. Eventually, the Blazers would find their rhythm and ended up getting the victory, 2-0. The Blazers will advance to the USA Hockey Nationals in Irvine, California.


Finally, the Delaware Ducks and Delaware Junior Blue Hens battled it out in the Delaware 18U-AA championship. The Ducks got the best of the Blue Hens in game one, winning 2-1. Then, the Blue Hens tied the series up in game two, winning 5-2. It all came down to game three. After regulation time concluded, it was all tied up at 2-2. The Blue Hens eventually were able to get the game-winning goal and won the game, 3-2. Now, the Delaware Junior Blue Hens will make the trip to Irvine, California as well.
