HO-HO-KUS, N.J. - The storyline has become all too familiar in youth sports - out-of-control parents in the stands berate players and officials, forcing a game to erupt in a violent outburst. Videos make their way onto TikTok, where everyone watching thinks: I would never act like that. Unfortunately, too many spectators would. And they are destroying the best part of hockey - the fun.

The Atlantic Affiliate is taking action with a new parent and spectator conduct reporting form. Individuals who observe instances of abusive behavior, foul or derogatory language, or other detrimental conduct directed towards officials or players from parents or spectators should report incidents via the website.

Atlantic Affiliate personnel will investigate reports that involve abusive adult behavior occurring before, during, and after games. On-ice incidents involving players, coaches, or officials should not be reported using this system, as they are handled through a separate process. Furthermore, alleged SafeSport violations should not be reported using this form either.

The new policy follows a part of AAHA’s commitment to ensuring a safe and enjoyable hockey experience for everyone involved. Please be responsible - your children are watching and follow your lead.
