COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - After the cancellation of numerous international events the past few years, stepping on the ice for competition can be a surreal experience. Atlantic Affiliate player Julian Brown was named to the U-17 Five Nations Tournament team and took the ice with Team USA.

Brown hails from Montclair, New Jersey, where he plays with the North Jersey Avalanche in the Atlantic Youth Hockey League. He plays defense and formerly played with the New Jersey Colonials and Team Maryland before moving to the Hackensack-based team. During the 2021-2022 season, he recorded two goals and 17 assists for 19 points with the Avalanche who won the Atlantic District Tier-I Championship and advanced to USA Hockey Nationals in Plymouth, Michigan.

In the first game for Team USA, Brown recorded an assist in a 10-1 victory over Germany. Team USA takes on Switzerland Wednesday evening in game two of tournament play.
