VOORHEES, N.J. – Each summer USA Hockey holds Sled Development Camp for aspiring elite-level athletes throughout the country. Players are selected by Team USA's sled team coaches based on recommendations from local sled programs throughout the country.

The Atlantic Affiliate is proud to host the camp in our footprint for a second time in the past few years. The program has returned to the Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees, New Jersey which is the official practice facility of the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers who are partnering to provide a positive experience for the players.

The camp is a chance to compete against other elite-level players in the sled community. It is also an opportunity for Team USA coaches and development staff to provide more information about each player's skill development and progress in hopes of someday joining USA Hockey for international competition.

Starting on Sunday, players arrived at the facility and were assigned to one of four teams for the duration of camp. Presentations and panel discussions with national staff were spread across the days, including a conversation about nutrition led by the Atlantic Affiliate’s very own Josh Pauls. Camp continues through Friday with ice sessions and coach’s feedback provided every step of the way to develop an even stronger national sled hockey program.
