Kate Whitman Annis joins Atlantic Affiliate board as Vice President of Adult Hockey

HO-HO-KUS, N.J. - Longtime hockey leader Kate Whitman Annis has joined the Atlantic Affiliate Executive Board as Vice President of Adult Hockey. A USA Hockey Coach Developer and Associate Coach-in-Chief for Women and Girls in the district, she has a storied hockey career that began in the Atlantic footprint.

Currently, Whitman Annis is Executive Director of the Devils Youth Foundation (DYF), representing the New Jersey Devils and Prudential Center, headquartered in Newark, NJ. In 2024 thus far, the organization has awarded 30 grants, totaling over $1.12 million in support of hockey and community organizations across the state. She oversees daily operations, including fundraising, grant strategies, special event planning, and community partnerships with a focus on leveraging sports and entertainment to drive positive community change.

“We’re excited to have Kate join our team and bring her expertise to supporting the growth of adult hockey in the Atlantic Affiliate,” said President Glenn Heffernan. “After a successful playing career, she has been an integral part of the New Jersey hockey community and has helped expand opportunities for people of all backgrounds to enjoy the game.”

In addition to her role with the foundation, Whitman Annis coaches the Eastside High School girls’ varsity team in Newark. Previously, she spent eight years as head coach for the varsity girls at The Pingry School, and has coached with the New Jersey Colonials girls’ program and with the program where she started playing, The Essex Hunt Club.

"As I join the Atlantic Amateur Hockey Association's Executive Board for Adult Hockey, I'm excited to continue growing the game and expanding opportunities for players of all ages,” said Kate Whitman Annis executive director of the Devils Youth Foundation. “Hockey has the power to bring communities together, and by fostering a supportive environment for adult athletes, we can help grow the sport while creating lasting, positive impacts both on and off the ice."

Her professional experience includes serving as assistant coach and general manager for the women’s professional hockey league team, Metropolitan Riveters, of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF), as well as Director of Hockey Operations for NLTT Ventures ownership group, overseeing the Minnesota Whitecaps and the Buffalo Beauts. Whitman Annis holds an MBA from the Solvay Brussels School of Business and ENPC and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Wesleyan University, where she played four years of varsity hockey and lacrosse. She lives in Morristown, New Jersey with her husband and four sons.
