HO-HO-KUS, N.J. – As amateur hockey leaders continue to emphasize sustainable growth and expanded access to the game, the Atlantic Amateur Hockey Association has appointed Brian Peca as its new Affiliate Growth Coordinator.
In the role, Peca will work closely with USA Hockey’s Program Services Department and Membership Council to coordinate and develop growth initiatives across the footprint. His efforts will focus on acquiring and retaining players — particularly in the 4- to 8-year-old age group — while supporting local associations through national programs such as Try Hockey For Free Days and the Hat Trick Growth Challenge.
“Growth is critical to the long-term health of our game,” President Glenn Hefferan said. “Brian brings the right mix of leadership, rink operations experience, and passion for youth hockey to help our associations strengthen their programs and reach new families.”
Peca currently serves as general manager of Hatfield Ice Arena in Colmar, Pennsylvania, where he oversees daily operations and works directly with local hockey organizations and community programs. He also serves as secretary of the AAHA, giving him a strong understanding of the affiliate’s structure, membership needs and long-term objectives.
As Affiliate Growth Coordinator, Peca will serve as a liaison between USA Hockey and local associations, help identify and share best practices, recruit additional growth-focused volunteers and explore opportunities to improve program satisfaction throughout the region.
“We’re thrilled that Brian has stepped into this important role,” Executive Vice President Maureen Thompson-Siegel said. “His enthusiasm, organizational skills and firsthand experience at the rink level will be a tremendous asset as we continue working to grow the game.”
Peca officially started on Jan. 26 and can be reached at bpeca@aahahockey.org.
